Debt Crisis, Part 3

I read about a landlord in Ireland who decided he wanted to help the poor tenants who lived on his estate.  He came up with an offer and posted it for everyone to see.  It read, “I’ll be in the office this Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. till noon.  Stop by then with any unpaid bills, and I’ll pay off your debt.”  It seemed too good to be true.  This notice was all the tenants could talk about for several days.

When the day arrived, a huge crowd had gathered outside, but no one wanted to be the first to enter and be made the brunt of some practical joke.  The minutes ticked away.  Finally, just before noon, an old couple went inside clutching a number of unpaid bills...

Adventist Recovery Ministries (June and October)  – Many people are struggling with unhealthy compulsive behaviors and addictions that are impacting their lives. This training equips people to learn about the journey to recovery of any addictive and harmful behavior using a Christ-centered 12-step approach. The training equips people to start a recovery ministry in their local congregation as well. Registration is $99 and is open now through May 31, 2015.

A Tour de Youth Cycling Event to General Conference Session will journey 325 miles from Dallas to San Antonio, Texas, through the beautiful towns, hills, and back roads of central Texas, June 28 to July 2. The event will be hosted by the Southwest Region Conference (SWC). This four-day cycling adventure will bring awareness to Texas and the U.S. about the growing problem of youth and adult obesity. Ten out of the 11 states that have increased rates of obesity are located in the South, and children between the ages of 2 to 19 are recording dangerous levels of obesity and unhealthy lifestyle choices. The SWC wants to encourage young people and adults to “get moving” and live better for the future. Register now to join them or sponsor someone on June 28 at the SWC headquarters in Dallas.

Registration for NARLA's Annual Religious Liberty Summit. Join the North American Religious Liberty Association's Summit, May 15 to 18, in Silver Spring, MD. NARLA plans an inspiring weekend filled with religious liberty training and information sessions, spiritual emphasis and testimony, American history tour, Capitol Hill legislative office visits, and a banquet featuring Liberty magazine editor, Lincoln Steed. Due to capacity limits for several of the activities, attendance at this year's Summit is limited to 50 individuals so register now
