Debt Crisis, Part 2

It was a very meager amount that I didn’t think needed to be paid, but rules were rules, so I handed over the $0.25 for an overdue library book.  Don’t get me wrong.  I was willing to pay the fine, and you can be equally sure that I was grateful I didn’t discover the book as late as an individual I heard about.  Apparently the book was way overdue…100 years overdue!  The library staff looked at their records and said that the fine that had accumulated was now around $10,000!  Fortunately, the library staff was willing to waive the financial penalty.  And just like that, it was as if that the huge debt had never existed.  Paid in full.  Forgiven!

It’s not a stretch to suggest that you and I have also accumulated a pretty heavy fine, the likes of which is impossible to pay and still live.  Paul states, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)  Simply put, the human family has racked up an incredible debt, and the penalty is eternal death (Romans 6:23).  However, in those final cryptic words of Jesus just before dying on the cross, “It is finished” (John 19:30), we find wonderful hope...

All Heaven Declares: Central’s annual Spring Concert will take place this Sabbath, May 2 starting at 2 PM. Come and celebrate the life of Jesus through song and scripture. Local talent will be featured in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Everyone is welcome!

Church-Wide Potluck & Ministry Fair is on Sabbath, May 9. Come one, come all and enjoy good fellowship, food, and a chance to learn more about the various ministries at Central.

ADRA Helping Victims of the Recent Earthquake. To learn more about what ADRA is doing and how you can support them go to.

A 3-Year Evangelism Project in Edmonton, Alberta is nearing its completion with a Revelation Today series presented by It Is Written Speaker/Director John Bradshaw. It is a month-long study conducted in partnership with more than 20 local churches and companies and will continue until May 9. Palm Beach County Churches Come Together in a Mission to the Cities’ Total Health Expo. The strategy evolved into inviting county residents to a major impact event, preceded by a Season of Service and followed by public evangelism in area churches. More than 3,000 people gathered February 28 for the Sabbath emphasis on spiritual health and family. Registration for NARLA's Annual Religious Liberty Summit. Join the North American Religious Liberty Association's Summit, May 15 to 18, in Silver Spring, MD. NARLA plans an inspiring weekend filled with religious liberty training and information sessions, spiritual emphasis and testimony, American history tour, Capitol Hill legislative office visits, and a banquet featuring Liberty magazine editor, Lincoln Steed.
