The headline caught my attention. “Tourist ‘Borrows’ World Famous Diamond.”  “Borrows” diamond?  I thought that this had to be an interesting read, so I continued.  The writer explained how he walked out of a famous German museum with one of Europe’s most precious stones in his pocket.  Nobody stopped him.  They didn’t even pat him down.  He was confident that even if they had they never would have located the 40-carat Dresden Green Diamond on his person.  But then the story took a twist...

“Turkey” Rolls at YNTS: Your Neighbor Thrift Store (YNTS) has partnered with the local Adventist Book Center to provide various vegetarian food options for everyone, including vegetarian “turkey” rolls for the holiday season. YNTS is open Monday through Thursday from 10 AM to 7 PM, Friday 10 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM.  Pick up your food items today.

Ellen White is listed in the Smithsonian Magazine's list of "100 Most Significant Americans of All Time." Instead of ranking each listing, Smithsonian listed them according to ten different categories. Ellen White is, of course, listed under "Religious Figures," where "Curiously, she is provided more space than any other religious figure — a full-page article illustrated with a full-page drawing," according to the Adventist Review.

Exodus - The Great Deliverance: Hot off the press from Remnant Publications, this book was released in time to share the true story of Moses and the exodus to counter the confused story shared in the new Hollywood movie “Exodus: Gods & Kings.” Click here to get your copy to share, or wait till it comes to Central and Your Neighbor Thrift Store in the next few days.

The Blueprint: The Story of Adventist Education, produced by Journey Films, will be airing on PBS World in December. The one-hour documentary tells the story of how Seventh-day Adventists have built one of the largest faith-based school systems in America, founded on teaching the whole child — body, mind and spirit. All three of Journey's films about Adventists are available as "The Adventists Trilogy" in a Collector's Edition DVD set of three. They include, "The Adventists," "The Adventists 2", and "The Blueprint." Available through Adventist Book Centers (800-765-6955) or on Amazon.

Bible Studies for Sight-Impaired individuals are available from Christian Record Services. The correspondence courses, for youth and adults, are available in braille, on cassette, and in large print. One does not have to own a Bible, as texts are quoted for them. The large-print and braille versions have quizzes to complete and return for grading. A certificate is awarded after completing each course. The audio courses have no quizzes to return and no certificates are issued. To learn more or to order click here.
