Failure to Launch

The best-laid plans don’t always work out, do they? How should you live when you’re not sure how things will turn out? Do you take risks or play it safe? Do you live confidently or hide behind closed doors because your life on this planet could turn catastrophic in a moment? What’s the best course to take?

There are many who say, “I fear getting married. What if difficult struggles arise between me and my mate?” Others contend, “I’m afraid to have children. What if they make wrong choices and break my heart?” Then there are those who bemoan, “I can’t start a business. What if it folds?” Or “I can’t enroll in college. I might not achieve good grades.” The common concern in each of these statements is fear of failure because of the inevitable risk involved. But is this the right approach to take in life? How does God expect His people to live?...

Celebrate Our 130th Anniversary With Us!

One could say that Sacramento Central had its beginnings on November 5, 1881 when the first group of believers (16 in total) met for a Bible study in Sacramento. Eventually, on October 6, 1887 during a statewide camp meeting the Sacramento Seventh-day Adventist Church was formally organized with a total of twenty-seven charter members. And that's just the beginning of the story...
