FROM THE WORD
Our High Calling
Every day we have to make many decisions. Our lives depend upon us making the right choices. Some of the most important choices that we can make in this life are to be fully committed to God by making Him first in our lives, and seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Matt 6:33
God must be first in our lives. We must choose today whom we shall serve. I choose to serve God. How about you? This is the most important decision that we will ever make. When we live for God, we are called to a life of serving Him. We will choose to be a kingdom builder and advance the kingdom of God.
When God's grace transforms our hearts we will want to share His love with others and share the Christ we know. We will have the deepest desire to share the knowledge of eternal life with souls thirsting for Living Water so that they too can be saved in God's kingdom. Our greatest satisfaction will come from sharing the word of God and seeing God transform these precious friends right in front of our very eyes and seeing the joy that they find in following Jesus.
The most wonderful, amazing, and fulfilling work in the world is soul winning. The greatest calling is the call to win someone to Jesus and guess what? We have all been called to make friends for God!
Testimonies vol. 4, p. 53 says to save souls should be the life work of everyone who professes Christ. We are debtors to the world for the grace given us from God, for the light which has shined upon us, and for the discovered beauty and power of truth.
When you win a soul to Jesus your heart burns within you even stronger for the love that Christ has given you and you have shared with another. This is truly how you keep the fire burning and stay in love with Jesus! The more we know Jesus, the more we long to share His love with others. The more we share His love, the more we long to know Him more.
When we share our love for Jesus with another and they too fall in love with Jesus, we can share in the joy of knowing that our labor is for eternity and they will also have the joy of living with Jesus through all eternity.
Daniel 12:3 says, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.”
So where do we begin with soul winning? Right where we are! Ask The Lord to put a burden in your heart for one special person. Begin praying for that person. Begin praying for souls. Look for opportunities to share what Jesus has done for you. Open your heart and share how Jesus forgave you and changed your life. Begin to build a relationship with this special person. Ask and believe that Jesus will give you the right words to say and that He will impart to you to help them open their hearts to receive the treasures of the gospel.
Your success in soul winning will not depend so much on the knowledge that you have, but the ability to reach their heart. By being their friend and coming close to them by sympathizing with them and praying with them and truly caring for their concerns and needs they will see how much you care about them and when they see how much you care. Their hearts will be more in tune to listen to you and when they know that you love them and that their salvation is of upmost importance to you they will open their heart to the Word of God.
Luke 14:23 says, “The Lord says to His servant, go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. We are to preach the gospel to every creature.”
There are people everywhere who are looking and praying for God to send someone to teach them His truth. We need to let our faith sweep fear aside and free us to experience the spirit of God flowing into and out of our lives. We don't have to be Bible scholars to lead a soul to Jesus. We just need to be one baby step ahead of them. We can begin with a little knowledge, and share what we know, while seeking for more knowledge and soon find the whole heavenly treasure awaiting our demand. COL p. 354 you must give the knowledge you have to receive more.
Today, I want to praise the Lord for putting a deep passion in my heart to make friends for God and win souls to Jesus. I am so thankful for what He has done and is doing in my life and in the lives of those around me! Truly amazing! Many miracles have happened and God has transformed the lives of many this year. Including mine! I am so happy that I gave my life to Jesus and that He is using me for His glory! God wants to use you for His glory too!
In John 15:16 Jesus says, “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain , that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give you.”
If you hear the Holy Spirit calling you to win souls for Christ's kingdom, please harken unto His voice and follow Him.
