Cunning Counterfeit

According to the dictionary to counterfeit is to “make an exact imitation of something valuable or important with the intention to deceive or defraud.”  This definition could definitely be applied to a man by the name of William Hamman.

Hamman had been serving at the Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan for 15 years where he lined up millions of dollars in research grants, fees, and salaries, and trained hospital staff without having any of the medical credentials he had claimed. 

Hamman was eventually confronted when a staffer at the hospital found his claims suspicious when he noticed that he never treated a patient, and never applied for physician admitting privileges at the facility.  How would you feel if the doctor you’d been seeing for years turned out to be a fraud?...

Central Church Retreat. Last week to register! Plan now to join us for our annual church retreat at Leoni Meadows, March 4-6, 2016 with featured speaker Randy Skeete. Healthy Plate presents “Better Digestive Health” by Dr. James Conner, a colorectal surgeon in the Sacramento area, on February 29 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the Camellia Room. There will also be a presentation on the importance of water and fiber in your diet. Be sure to bring a friend!

Ministry Opportunities

Gardening Ministry. Our Garden Ministry assists the church in beautifying the property grounds. A team of volunteers meets each Wednesday morning to plant, weed, prune, and water. There are no special qualifications needed just a desire to see God’s house look beautiful. Please contact the church office or Karen Medeiros at k.medeiros@sbcglobal.net if you can help.
