BULLETIN BOARD - An assortment of happenings, announcements, and resources from around the world Seventh-day Adventist Church
The Conscientious Objector: With Veteran’s Day in the rear view mirror, as Adventists, let’s remember our own Desmond Doss, who was the only conscientious objector to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for non-combat achievements in World War II. Doss, derided by his army peers for his Sabbath keeping and Bible reading habits and shunned for his noncombatant status, would eventually save the lives of 75 of his fellow soldiers, all alone and while unarmed while bullets flew all around him. See the trailer for The Conscientious Objector, a documentary by Terry Benedict.
Pew Research Report: A closer look at Seventh-day Adventists in America identifies us as "A Small and Diverse Faith..." and "among the most racially and ethnically diverse American religious groups," and "extremely devout by traditional measures of religious observance." Their data was drawn from the 2014 Religious Landscape Study, conducted June 14 to September 30, 2014. Click here to read the report.
