The Challenge Of Pursuit

When Kim Kardashian’s wedding of 72-days to Kris Humphrey’s ended, a wave of fury about short marriages and lack of respect for the institution riddled the news.  In a recent Pew Research Poll it was revealed that there just aren’t as many marriages taking place today as there use to be.  It’s very evident that young people are running scared.  If only they knew the Bible’s secrets to lasting and happy marriages.

There is one all-important principle that the Bible offers: maintain personal dignity and self-respect at all times.  Many marriages suffer from what a well-known author says is “a failure to recognize a universal characteristic of human nature:  We value that which we are fortunate to get; we discredit that thing with which we are stuck.”  No toy is ever as much fun to play with as it appeared to an excited child in a store.  Seldom does an expensive car provide the satisfaction anticipated by the purchaser...

Cultural Fair Coming to Central!  Central’s Family Life Ministry is hosting a cultural fair on Sunday, April 19 from 11 AM to 3 PM.  This is a free event and will be open to the community.  Good fellowship and fun for the entire family.  Food will be sold.  There will be something for everyone, so invite family or friends. Live Better, Live Longer Nutrition & Wellness Seminar March 29 and 30 at the Grass Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church.  The seminar will feature Jim & Neva Brackett, as well as a lecture by Dr. Neil Nedley. Guests will learn how to prevent cancer, reverse heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and more. Neva Brackett will demonstrate recipes from her Seven Secrets cookbook.
